Today we’re excited to reveal the 23 finalists of the Northern Stars competition.
Northern Stars was designed to showcase the great tech startups and founder talent that we have in the North of England and to engage the community along the way. In addition to the online competition, the Tech North team have run 7 pitch events over the past 7 weeks across the North, attracting 570 attendees and 57 startups to pitch.
The shortlisted businesses will be invited to the Grand Final in Manchester at UKFast Campus on Tuesday 24th November, where the top 10 Northern Stars will be crowned.

Now that the 23 finalists have been selected, we will move into the next phase of the current programme, which is to prepare the finalists for our Grand Final pitch event on 24th November.
Winners of the Northern Stars Grand Final will receive a package of support from Tech North including a place in the Tech North pavilion at TechCrunch Disrupt in December and the opportunity to pitch to investors at Bloomberg in January. Additionally, Tech North will fund a place for the winning teams at the SXSW Interactive Festival in Austin Texas in March 2016, a unique platform for the startups to introduce their technology on a global stage.

Northern Stars has highlighted the importance of showcasing the region’s brightest and best startup talent, so we can continue to foster entrepreneurial excellence.”
All the companies that have been part of the Northern Stars competition will be part of a Northern Stars network, a group of digital start-ups from the North of England that will be kept informed of future events and initiatives to support their ongoing growth.
