Last night, Northern Stars descended on Liverpool for the North West regional heat of our big startup competition.
Nine companies pitched, and there were some excellent performances. In the end, the judges chose Ruler Analytics, a local startup that ‘closes the loop’ between marketing and sales with a smart data service.
Ruler Analytics is now guaranteed a place in the Northern Stars grand final in November. The other companies that pitched still have a chance of being selected for the final too.
By way of disclosure, Tech North’s Director, Richard Gregory is chair of Ruler’s board. However, the panel of judges made their choice independently, with no input from any of the Tech North team.

You can find the full list of companies that pitched here (unfortunately DriverNet weren’t able to make it in the end). Thanks to our judges, GP Bullhound‘s Ed Prior, Gaynor Dykes of Grant Thornton, Adam Gillett of Crowdcube, and Volker Hirsch of Tech North Advocates.
Big thanks to our Northern Stars Premium Partner, Accelerate Places, offering creative and inspiring coworking spaces in Manchester city centre.
There’s still time to get involved
Startup entrepreneurs can still apply for Northern Stars 2017. Full details here.
You can still book tickets for the regional heat in Newcastle (5 October). Get them while you can! Tickets for the grand final will be available soon.
