The North’s biggest startup competition is back, and better than ever. Yes, applications are now open for Northern Stars 2017!
Over the past two years, we’ve helped 20 winning startups grow their businesses and expand their horizons on the national and international stage.
Once again, we’re looking for the North of England’s most promising tech companies to enter the competition. Winners will receive:
- A trip to TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin (December 2017)
- Automatic entry into the Northern Tech Awards (March 2018)
- Participation in investor networking events
- A ministerial roundtable with the UK government
- Media and pitch training
For the first time, all 20 Northern Stars finalists will receive support and promotion from Tech North. Both the 10 winners and the 10 runners up will receive pitch training, a PR campaign and media training as well as personalised support and communications around opportunities for their business. All 20 will also receive tickets to, and a place on an exhibition stand at, our Founders’ Network Summit in spring 2018.
How to apply
To apply for Northern Stars, you need to be an early-stage tech startup; have a product on the market that has gained traction, and have raised no more than £2 million in equity-based investment. We’ll be holding a series of regional heats across the North in the coming months, and the grand final will take place in November.
Over £6 million has been raised by winning Northern Stars companies to date, and each cohort has had at least one company raise or sign a deal worth £1 million. Northern Stars has helped our winners find clients, commercial partners, investment and media exposure.
So, get in early and apply now!
