Update: This Startup Weekend Manchester event has been postponed, but the organisers say they’ll announce a new date soon.
—
Startup Weekend events are a great way of learning about life as a tech entrepreneur. You have just two days to put together the basics of a business, and pitch it to judges.
Successful tech companies have been born out of Startup Weekends. Even if you don’t continue with own project afterwards, it’s still an exhilarating experience and well worth trying.
Manchester will play host to a Startup Weekend event around the theme of the connected home on 16-18 September. If you’ve got an idea for a way to make homes smarter, or just want to help someone else bring their own idea closer to life, this is a brilliant opportunity. If you’re a coder, marketer, hardware tinkerer or budding entrepreneur, it’s well worth taking part.
All startups will have the opportunity to enter the EDF Energy Blue Lab challenge, and winners of the start-up weekend will be offered a mentoring and coaching session with the Blue Lab team.
