Tech Nation focus: how Middlesbrough’s tech scene shapes up in 2017

The brand new Tech Nation Report 2017 details the growth of the tech and digital sector across the UK. In a series of articles, we’ll be highlighting what it says about individual cities across the North.

We’re rounding off the series with a look at Middlesbrough.

The Tech Nation report says the Middlesbrough area is home to 6,970 digital jobs, with an average advertised salary of £34,956. It’s home to DigitalCity, which has been supporting the local digital tech and creative industries for 13 years.

The report highlights the successes of local agency and WordPress VIP partner Big Bite Creative, and marketing and ecommerce specialists Visualsoft. Also in Middlesbrough, you’ll find former Northern Stars winner EvaluAgent and games firm Double Eleven. That’s not to mention Animex, the UK’s largest festival of animation and computer games, and the Innovate Tees Valley Festival.
